Shipping Policy

We send books to addresses across the UK by standard delivery and most orders leave us within two working days. 

Where we deliver

We deliver to addresses in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. We are not currently able to send to the Channel Islands, the Isle of Man, BFPO addresses or anywhere outside the UK. Parcels to the Scottish Highlands and islands can take a day or two longer.

What delivery costs

We offer one service, standard UK delivery, at £3.95 per order. The delivery charge is shown with the price of every book, so the total you see before you add a book to your basket is the total you pay. Nothing is added at checkout.

When your order leaves us

We dispatch orders within two working days. Our working days are Monday to Friday, not including UK bank holidays.

Orders placed before 2 pm on a working day count as received that day. Orders placed after 2pm, at the weekend or on a bank holiday count as received on the next working day.

When it should arrive

Standard delivery with Royal Mail usually arrives two to three working days after dispatch, so please allow up to five working days from the day you order. For the Scottish Highlands and islands and for Northern Ireland, please allow up to seven working days. The weeks before Christmas can be a little slower and we will say so on the website when they do.

Whatever happens, your books will reach you within 30 days of your order unless we have agreed a different date with you.

How we pack your books

Every book is packed carefully in packaging that holds it firmly and protects the corners and spine. A book that arrives cared for tells the reader something before they open it and that matters to us.

Preorders and new releases

When you preorder a book we take payment when you order and send it so that it arrives on or close to publication day. If your order also includes books that are already in stock, we send those straight away and post the new title separately, at no extra cost to you.

Publishers sometimes move a publication date. If that happens we will email you with the new date and you can cancel for a full refund at any time before your book is dispatched.

Signed and dedicated copies

All copies of books are signed unless you specify otherwise when you order. Copies with a personal dedication can take up to five extra working days, due to the aUthor's travels.

Orders for schools, services and book clubs

We welcome larger orders, whether that is a set for a class, copies for a team or a stack for a reading group. For orders of 5 or more books, please email [address] before ordering. We will confirm the delivery charge, the dispatch date and any discount before you pay anything.

Large orders are heavy and go by courier, so someone may need to be there to sign for them. We can invoice organisations and accept purchase orders.

If your parcel is late or lost

If your order has not arrived within 10 working days of dispatch, please get in touch. We will check with the carrier and if the parcel has not turned up within a further 5 working days we will send a replacement or give you a full refund, whichever you prefer.

Your books are our responsibility until they reach you. You will never be asked to pay for a parcel that went missing on its way.

If a book arrives damaged

If a book reaches you damaged, please tell us. It helps if you can do so within 14 days of delivery and send a photo of the book and its packaging. We will send a replacement or refund you in full, including delivery and you will not need to send the damaged copy back. Telling us later does not affect your legal rights.

If the address was wrong

Please check your address carefully at checkout. If a parcel comes back to us because the address given was incomplete or incorrect, we will contact you and send it again once the redelivery postage of £3.95 has been paid. If the mistake was ours, we put it right at our cost.
