Refunds and Returns Policy

If you change your mind

You have 14 days from the day your books arrive to tell us you would like to cancel. You do not need to give a reason. Email lisa@lisacherry.co.uk and then send the books back within a further 14 days.

You can also cancel at any time before your order is dispatched and we will refund you in full.

Please return books in the condition they reached you. Looking through a book is fine, just as you would in a bookshop. If a book has been written in, marked or has a cracked spine, we may reduce the refund to reflect that.

Who pays to send books back

If you are returning books because you changed your mind, you pay the return postage. We suggest a tracked service, because the parcel is your responsibility until it reaches us.

If a book is faulty, damaged or not what you ordered, we cover the cost. Often we will not need it back at all.

What we refund

When you cancel, we refund the price of the books and the standard delivery charge you paid. We do this within 14 days of receiving the books back, or of you showing us proof that you posted them, whichever comes first. The refund goes to the card or account you paid with.

Faulty, damaged or wrong books

Sometimes a book arrives with missing or misprinted pages, damage from its journey, or simply the wrong title. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 you have 30 days to reject it for a full refund, including delivery. If you would rather have a replacement, we will send one straight away. After 30 days you are still entitled to a replacement or, if that is not possible, a refund.

Books we cannot take back for a change of mind

A copy with a personal dedication is written for you alone, so it cannot be cancelled simply because you changed your mind. If it arrives damaged or faulty, it is covered in exactly the same way as any other book.

Preorders

You can cancel a preorder at any time before it is dispatched and we will refund you in full. Once it has been sent, the usual 14 days apply from the day it arrives.

Orders from schools and organisations

The 14 day right to cancel applies to people buying for themselves. Schools, services and other organisations buying in bulk can return unopened books in resaleable condition within 30 days by agreement with us. Faulty or damaged books are always replaced or refunded.
